Brett Pace | Course Superintendent
Brett Pace was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa and was part of the 1985 Oskaloosa High School state golf championship team. He comes from a golfing family. In fact, his family has a history of hole in ones: his mother, older sister, and younger sister have all had hole in ones. His brother won a car with a hole in one and his father has had 9 hole in ones! Brett has 0, and is still looking for that elusive hole in one!
He attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa on a golf scholarship. At Indian Hills, he enrolled in their turf management program. During college he worked at Elmhurst Country Club in Oskaloosa. Following the completion of his two years at Indian Hills, he was hired for his first superintendent’s job in West Bend, Iowa. He was employed there for 4 years, until he accepted the superintendent position at Tara Hills in 1992.
He met his wife Amy at Tara Hills. They married in 1995. They live in Keystone, and have three children: Brennen, Landen, and Megan. Some of the improvements at Tara Hills since his employment have included the planting of many trees, construction of a new pond, and construction of new tees. He loves the course, the people, and his job, and all of the help and support the members have given him over the years.
